what is thought?

Fundamentally, thought is movement; movement within the brain. It’s the movement of language registered in the mind without the medium of sound. Through some neurological vibration, the mind seems to create and register (“hear”) thought simultaneously. So the mind registers this movement as inside sound and distinguishes it from outside sound. It seems the mind creates and perceives thought simultaneously. Is there any distance or separation between the mind creating thought and perceiving it? Seems like creation and perception are simultaneous with absolutely no separation. Simply the same: as thought is created it’s perceived, as thought is perceived it’s created. It seems that these are not separate movements at all, so that neither comes before the other. Does creation cause perception or does perception cause creation and do either exist without the other?

It seems that mind either creates or receives thought. So thought is simply movement that either just starts happening in the mind like the big bang phenomena or the mind sparks the movement of thought. Actually there is no difference in these two appearances. Thought is sparked by the mind or poof it appears in the mind. Either way it actually comes from nowhere. But the whole point of this pointer is that there is no one controlling this movement. The mind learns (which means it registers) an idea that there is someone behind the thinking, doing the thinking, owning the thoughts. But where is this person? Perhaps the mind may notice that there is no owner, no thinker. This realization also happens for no-one, again its simply the mind recognizing an obvious truth. The mind may also register this realization as a belief “there is no-one doing the thinking”.

Thoughts are simply neurological movements that either appear within the mind or the mind creates them as a function of the brain. Either way there is no individual doing any of it. Mind may want to say “but I can decide to think about anything, like I’m thinking about my next move, see I am controlling thought”. Sure it seems that way but did you decide to decide to think about your next move? Deciding to volitionally think about something is itself another movement that appeared from nowhere and was created by no one. The appearance of decision making seems like evidence that there is an actual person in control. But it is flimsy evidence and falls apart when examined more closely.
